The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is an independent interagency body established by the United Nations General Assembly. The applicable human resources procedures are governed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Fund and the UN Secretariat. Any candidate from a member organization of the UNJSPF applying for this post is considered as an internal candidate provided he/she has been appointed through the appointment and promotion procedures applicable in his/her respective organization. Staff members are subject to the authority of the Secretary General and to assignment by him or her. In this context, all staff are expected to move periodically to new functions in their careers in accordance with established rules and procedures. This position is located in the Pension Entitlements Section (PES) of the Fund Secretariat of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) based in New York. The Pension Entitlements Section is responsible for the calculation and processing of entitlements, including administering and managing participation and separation processes as well as post retirement matters in respect of staff of member organizations of the Fund, including the determination and calculation of all types of pension benefits.
The incumbent reports to the Chief of the Pension Entitlements Section.

Under the general supervision of the Chief of Section, the incumbent performs the following duties:
1. Serves as Deputy to the Chief of Pension Entitlements Section assisting the Chief of Section in performing his/her supervisory responsibilities, including participation in the following functions:
(a) planning and organizing the work of the Section;
(b) developing and implementing new methods and procedures, as necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the section;
(c) providing analyses and other technical input in respect of systems and processes used by the Section and advising on the design and evaluation of new or enhanced systems, in co-operation with the Operations Support Unit, the Business Analyst for Operations and the Information Management Systems Section;
(d) replacing the Chief of Section during his/her absence.
2. Assists the Chief of Section in performing other duties such as:
(a) carrying out inter-agency activities related to the determination and clarification of procedures and practices regarding participation and separation matters;
(b) collaborating with the Operation Support Unit in the preparation and or updating of detailed procedures and guidelines on all benefit entitlements;
(c) providing analyses and technical input on various aspects of participation in and processing benefits, as well as on related systems, procedures and practices including information systems used by the section;
(d) acting as releasing officer during Unit Chief absences;
(e) providing input to senior management on policy issues concerning benefit and entitlements.
3. Serves as the Section's focal point in Recruitment matters.
4. Undertakes special assignments at the request of the Chief of Section and/or Senior management.

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in business administration or public administration, finance, management or related area is required. A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in the area of employee benefit administration, finance, or human resources, or related area, of which at least three years at international level is required. At least two years of managerial or supervisory experience is required. Experience in pension administration is desirable.
语言要求
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
