The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is an independent inter-agency body established by the United Nations General Assembly. The applicable human resources procedures are governed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Fund and the UN Secretariat.
Any candidate from a member organization of the UNJSPF applying for this post is considered as an internal candidate provided he/she has been appointed through the appointment and promotion procedures applicable in his/her respective organization.
Staff members are subject to the authority of the Secretary-General and to assignment by him or her. In this context, all staff are expected to move periodically to new functions in their careers in accordance with established rules and procedures.
Appointment at the United Nations is subject to mandatory adherence to the United Nations Financial Disclosure Programme.
An appointment to the Investment Management Division (IMD) of the UNJSPF additionally requires compliance with the rules and regulations pertaining to IMD's Code of Ethics, Personal Securities, Gift and Hospitality policies.

This position is located in the Investment Management Division (IMD) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF). IMD is responsible for the day-to-day management of the investments of the Fund. The Investment Officer reports to the Senior Investment Officer of Fixed Income.

Under the overall supervision of the Senior Investment Officer, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
• Helps the Senior Investment Officer invest and manage assigned assets of the Fund in fixed income to produce optimal investment returns that avoid undue risk, balances long term strategies effective over an investment cycle as well as short-term tactics to achieve results superior to the benchmarks.
• Assists in implementing investment strategies and monitors the portfolio to achieve the performance to meet the Fund's investment objectives.
• Conducts careful and thorough investment research and makes specific investment recommendations when appropriate by evaluating economic and markets conditions and working on analyses with support of research providers and any other resources available to the Investment Management Division (IMD).
• Participates in the discussion and the development of investment recommendations for asset allocation.
• Focuses on cash management, foreign exchange, ex-post analytics.
• Ensures that each investment team will be provided with liquidity in the appropriate currency and that the safety, profitability, liquidity and convertibility requirements of the Fund are met.
• Participates in the discussion on strategic currency allocation for the portfolio and implements tactical currency portfolio allocations to enhance the portfolio's short term performance.
• Covers the day-to-day foreign exchange cash management and funding including the timely payment of payroll transfers.
• Focuses on foreign exchange cash flows as well as on the short term portfolio assets. Focuses primarily on FX needs in order to create and improve cash management.
• Provides ex-post analytics on how investments strategies were adopted and decisions taken have impacted the performance on both the portfolio and securities level and completes ad hoc requests and analytics for quarterly portfolio reviews, Investments Committee meetings, and Pension Board and General Assembly reports, etc.
• Assists in the preparation of analyses as well as files ad-hoc requests.
• Ensures that all of the investments comply with IMD's investment policy and guidelines.
• Attends investment conferences and seminars to access academia and industry experts.
• Conducts analyses, makes specific investment recommendations to achieve optimum investment performance with careful review of the portfolio's investment objective and risk tolerance.
• Presents and discusses investment recommendations with Senior Investment Officer.
• Keeps abreast of rapidly changing techniques of portfolio management and exchanges views with colleagues and members of the investment community.
• Performs other duties as required.

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in Business and Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
工作经验
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in global foreign exchange markets is required. Experience in advising or managing cash and currency exposures at a large sized investment manager or financial institution is required.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in English is required; knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
